Contract farming can be defined as an agreement between farmers and processing and/or marketing firms for the production and supply of agricultural products under forwarding agreements, frequently at predetermined prices.
Currently, Agro-Tourism Association contracts over 45,000 smallholder farmers engaged in the production of sorghum, sesame, and barley in the sub-regions of Teso, Lango, Acholi, and West Nile, Sebei Kigezi, and Karamoja. The model below is what Agro-Tourism Association adopted to enable effective implementation.
